I have a lot of big projects I've been working on this summer and still have lined up for this summer, but somewhere far down the line is my kitchen. After 2 1/2 years in my house I'm ready for a new look. I'm still debating on wall color since my original plan for grey seems a little too trendy right now and I'm not a fan of jumping on the trend wagon, but I do know my kitchen is going to be less primitive and more 1940-50s vintage.
I found the top half to this hutch at a thrift store for $12 and the bottom at an estate sale for $20! I'm going to repaint it and replace the knobs, but isn't it fabulous? I think I want to display my punch bowls and/or my crystal snack trays in my kitchen! I want them out of my basement where I can enjoy them and use them more often!
This oven was a $60 estate sale treasure! It works and everything! I'm taking a big leap and replacing my modern flat top stove with this old time beauty. The actual oven part is tiny, but I have a built in wall oven so I think it will be ok. After Eric paints the camper oven & fridge gloss pink I may have him take a crack at my wall oven as well since brown will NOT go with my new color scheme. I know it will probably be September before we can start on the kitchen projects, but as I'm out treasure hunting for others I'm finding treasures for myself as well and stashing them in the garage so the kitchen will be able to be redone in one swoop. I can't wait!
